Hulk Games: Full of Fight, Thrill, & Adventure!

hulk-games

The Hulk is a fantastic lead character for big, violent, action-packed video games. He has undergone many variations throughout the years. Still, at his heart, the Hulk has always been a huge, nearly indestructible beast with a tremendous propensity for demolishing just about anything in his path.

Even if today’s superheroes are psychologically more sophisticated and complicated than ever, there are moments when all you want to do is avenge yourself for yet another difficult day at work; in these situations, putting on the Hulk’s metaphorical shoes is the best way to let off steam.

The Hulk has appeared in a lot of hulk games over the years, even though there are not many that are solely focused on him. Here are some of his best recent hulk games.

Hulk Games

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds

Platforms: Arcade, PlayStation 3, PlayStation, Xbox 360, Dreamcast

In Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, the Hulk is a delight to control. The Hulk always appears terrific on-screen, massive, imposing, and straight out of a comic book, regardless of whether you choose his standard green skin or another (including that awesome red).

Hulk is fast, strong, and has some impressive moves. He also has a great sense of weight, so if you punch Ryu, Albert Wesker, or Thor in the head with a fist the size of Hulk, you know you will hurt them.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2

Platform: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii

Depending on how you played, you may have had a different experience with Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 hulk game versions are fantastic, but the others (like the PSP version) are less outstanding. Given how amazing the PSP port of the original Ultimate Alliance was, this is quite unfortunate.

In any case, Ultimate Alliance 2 allows you to kick more butt by including Hulk on your team (if you can find enough gamma canisters). There is not much to say about this hulk game, but fans should give it a shot.

The Incredible Hulk: The Ultimate Destruction

Platform: PS2, Xbox, Gamecube

When Ultimate Destruction first came out in 2005, it marked a significant improvement over earlier Hulk games. Unlike the 2003 Hulk game, you are not required to play as Dr. Bruce Banner through torturous stealth sequences; instead, the action is significant and green throughout.

You can use vehicles as fists, surf on buses, gallop through bustling city streets and play a game of spontaneous baseball with nothing but a lamppost and an innocent bystander. Would you like to travel for a while? Take the plunge; there are miles and miles of expansive desert to discover.

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction makes such excellent use of the character that it is difficult to complain, even though it can become repetitive as you play.

Additionally, the voice cast is superb. Neal McDonough, who portrayed the character in an animated series in the 1990s, and Ron Perlman both appear as Abomination and Banner, respectively, lending the speech a sense of gravitas.

An epic feel is created by demolishing structures, hurling tanks, and engaging foes while wearing mech suits. A rising response level dependent on your actions, with ever-increasing firepower coming your way, is also included, comparable to GTA.

The Incredible Hulk: Rampage

Platform: Mobile

It is a lot of fun to play The Incredible Hulk: Rampage! It is a top-down, arcade-style action beat-em-up game that was first released for mobile devices but can now be played on PC thanks to Java development. Although the absence of background music has been criticized, the reviews have been positive overall.

The Hulk battles his way through a hostile compound where he can pick up and throw explosives to unlock doors and knock down walls. The Hulk will occasionally enter the scene and make a joke in a dialogue box. For a mobile game from 2006, it is a straightforward hulk game but has a compelling gaming loop.

The Incredible Hulk (1994)

Platform: PS3, Xbox 360, Mega Drive, Master System,  Game Gear, SNES

The Incredible Hulk (1994) - release date, videos, screenshots, reviews on RAWG

Despite being made available for the Master System, Game Gear, and Super Nintendo, the Genesis version is the most widely used. This hulk game combines beat-’em-up mechanics with side-scrolling platforming. A gamma/rage meter exists, but it has a different purpose in this hulk game.

Bruce Banner, Super Hulk, Hulk Out, and The Hulk are the four personas that The Hulk can assume, depending on the meter. This Hulk game is among the best because of how well these four forms are managed.

The Incredible Hulk DS (2008)

Platform: Nintendo DS

This DS hulk game is one of many based on the 2008 Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster The Incredible Hulk. In about thirty side-scrolling levels, the player controls Hulk as he leaps onto roofs. The Hulk can jump quite high and grasp most surfaces.

Since crushing the environment can destroy most of it, these leaps and grabs are especially beneficial. The Hulk can then transform into an unstoppable super form due to raising his gamma gauge.

However, although this mechanism is cool, several players felt that this hulk game was too simple because it was easy to enter super form, which eliminated the challenge.

The Incredible Hulk (2003)

Platform: GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Windows

This hulk game was released five years prior to the film; this Game Boy Advance game also goes by the moniker The Incredible Hulk. It is an isometric beat-em-up in which the Hulk can pick up objects and foes toss them around, covering the character’s origin through the development of the Abomination.

Again, Hulk has the ability to accumulate meters to access powerful moves that can reveal secret passages leading to other levels. Multiple Hulks compete against each other in a mini-game in the additional multiplayer mode. Critics agreed that this hulk game was a simple pleasure but nothing special.

The Incredible Hulk (2008)

Platform: Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360

hulk-games

It is an open-world, 3D-action hulk game. Unlike the movie, which primarily took place in Harlem, most of the game’s action is set in a destructible Manhattan. The film serves as some of the plot’s inspiration, but the game’s narrative is primarily unique.

A group of iconic Hulk bad guys are let loose halfway through the story. This divides the game into original missions and movie-based content, but sadly, the boss fights in the game were described as being terrible compared to the enjoyable open-world exploring and movie-based levels.

The Incredible Hulk: The Pantheon Saga

Platform: PlayStation, Sega Saturn, MS-DOS.

Based on the Hulk comics, The Incredible Hulk: The Pantheon Saga was a video game for the PlayStation. It is based on the narrative arc in which the Hulk joined the superteam Pantheon. Only the Hulk is playable despite being based on an ensemble novel.

The Hulk is captured by the Pantheon at the start of the hulk game but manages to escape just as their cargo ship touches down in the Pantheon’s mountain headquarters.

In this hulk game, the Hulk fights through beat-em-up levels and may perform special attacks using a gamma meter.
